A kissing booth with mirrors! A men’s world in mint green! More than 80 square meters full of colourful and incredibly eloquent Minna Parikka shoes, boots, wallets, silk scarves and gloves – MINNA PARIKKA UNIVERSUM is exactly what Helsinki needed in the midst of a cold winter.

MINNA PARIKKA UNIVERSUM opened its doors November the 22nd at Aleksanterinkatu 36, Helsinki. The over 80 m2 accessory lover’s wonderland is designed by interior designer Joanna Laajisto.

The Elle Style Awards were held in Helsinki October the 24th – Minna was the choice of the prestigious jury as the Accessory Designer of the Year. Thank you ELLE FINLAND!

Shoe designer Minna Parikka and artist Jani Leinonen collaborated on an art project filled with corporate mascots and shoes.

The duo created a space with an optical illusion covered with a print based on Jani Leinonen’s painting. The print also takes over 3 styles of Minna Parikka’s satin shoes that all have their place in the installation.  ‘Here the common and tacky commercial characters collide into the luxurious and abundant high heels. The battle between the classes has began.’ the duo states.

 The 3 styles of shoes are all numbered and signed in series of 25. ‘They are art and we can not control what do you do with them, frame them or wear them!’ The pairs come in sizes 36-41 and are sold through Amos Anderson during ‘Boutique’ exhibition which is officially part of Helsinki World Design Capital Year.
